Any Way to Test Without A Car?

I have my MPGuino build all except the car. It is all in a project box with the USB and a 4 wire port coming out the sides. I haven't started the car part because I'm going to need some in person help from a friend to find my VSS signal and I don't know when I'll get to work on that.

Meanwhile, I'd like to be able to test that things are put together inside. Is there a program to display something on the LCD while hooked up to USB? Perhaps get it to do some kind of calculation?

I got a lot of use out of this (another atmega168 processor) to smooth things out on the bench:

You could use a second arduino too.

I was hoping for something that didn't require building another thing. I'm really more confident of the power circuits than I am the connection to the LCD, because it was a lot of close solders and some of them were complicated by my building everything else around them and having to poke my hands between wires trying to do it. Could someone who understands the programming language whip up a shortish program that displays something on the LCD if it is hooked up right?

Have you programmed it yet? If so, just power it up. It will still show you stuff on the screen even with no inputs for speed or injector signals, but you will see 0MPG.
