I take it that's your comment on the page? Have you checked over at teamswift?

If it were in California, I'd bet he did it to get in the carpool lanes.

But it looks like a Minnesota motorcycle plate.

I remember seeing a three wheeled Ford Festiva about ten years ago on fordfestiva.com. It was tapered in the back.

I was thinking that too...

On the negative side, I like to stay under the radar if I can. That three wheeler would be a cop-magnet on it's own, cruising in the HOV lane and you may as well have a big 'ole pot leaf bumper sticker (read:Bullseye on your back) as most every police officer along your route would love to pull you over to hear you explain, check your registration, etc.

I read basjoos post about being pulled over more than you would expect.

I really admire the guy who build that three wheeled metro, I wish he'd post here.

I'm well aware that aluminum alloy does not equal magnesium.. no rim is made of magnesium though, at least not entirely.

They're made of an aluminum alloy bonded with magnesium and other metals, hence the name "mag" rims
.

HUH???
Christ better go study some more. There are Magnesium wheels on the market. I can get you as many as you want to pay for, and FYI, No they aren't "bonded" with Aluminium alloy. You may call any old wheels "Mag Wheels" but they never "went out of production" they were always being produced as are composites; and I can get you those too.

I would love to see it done with a motor bike rear frame and an electric motor hooked up to make it a plug in hybrid.

Bike wheels are not designed for side loads like automotive wheels. Electric or fuel, you need some sort of change to the rear suspension and wheel so it can handle those thrusts.
