If I receive a message while I am driving and it does not indicate I need to change course, I put down my phone and answer it later.

You're still being a bit distracted by trying to read a message while driving. Maybe you need to turn your stereo up a bit - I hardly ever even hear the ding of an arriving text...

I don't have a cell phone, or a [functioning] stereo, but my tinnitus is drown out by the wind-wing noise.

You're just now alarmed? The linked articles doesn't even touch on how evil Facespook is. As the founders burn through their fortunes they are starting to show remorse. First was Sean Parker, then the Indian guy. Now a group of them are starting to try to stop what they started:

Early Facebook and Google employees form coalition to fight what they built
Nellie Bowles Published 12:54 PM ET Sun, 4 Feb 2018

Quote:
A group of Silicon Valley technologists who were early employees at Facebook and Google, alarmed over the ill effects of social networks and smartphones, are banding together to challenge the companies they helped build.

The cohort is creating a union of concerned experts called the Center for Humane Technology.

"We were on the inside," said Tristan Harris, a former in-house ethicist at Google who is heading the new group. "We know what the companies measure. We know how they talk, and we know how the engineering works."

The effect of technology, especially on younger minds, has become hotly debated in recent months. In January, two big Wall Street investors asked Apple to study the health effects of its products and to make it easier to limit children's use of iPhones and iPads. Pediatric and mental health experts called on Facebook last week to abandon a messaging service the company had introduced for children as young as 6. Parenting groups have also sounded the alarm about YouTube Kids, a product aimed at children that sometimes features disturbing content.

"The largest supercomputers in the world are inside of two companies — Google and Facebook — and where are we pointing them?" Mr. Harris said. "We're pointing them at people's brains, at children."

Not a psychiatrist but a clinical psychologist (there's a world of difference) and tenured professor. He has the #1 selling book on Amazon. As he says he sells "more than the comic books".

Which one can write prescriptions? Is there a graphic novel adaptation?

My sister sent me some hippy cook book. I do not even remember what diet it promoted, just that it was complicated. The pictures of food looked great, but it was a big comic book of the writers.

Meanwhile, in Telletubbie land: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.a40288ffc869

France is being intolerant of people who just want to communicate!

Play Pokerman? Take these awesome selfies?

(I actually kind of like the last one)

"[T]hey’ll need to park in a designated parking spot and shut off their engine. The only exception the court provided is in the event of an emergency. The fine for violating the ban (..) is about $166 (135 euros)."

From the comments: "...the catalyst for the ruling was a driver who appealed his fine after parking in a roundabout with the hazard lights on in order to use his phone....”

Don't know, but psychiatrists are the one hated by Scientology. There will [likely] be a graphic novel.

The ultimate hippy comic/cook book.
