I think this platform move gets them under $25K. Honda might have forced their hand with their aggressive pricing on the new Insight. The original $40K price point put them in the "near luxury" market and the fit and finish is probably nowhere near that level. To sell big numbers of the Volt it has to compete directly with the Prius and Insight.
Anybody notice the missing passenger side mirror?
