Avera Motors: Diesel Power Gets Exclusive Engine Release

Avera Motors is a new car company from Florida. Here is the first look at their new diesel engine. It looks like there is a generator on the front and transmission at the other side of the crankshaft?

Is it supposed to be a hybrid? The part on the front looks more like a large vacuum pump.

Interesting...what would a vacuum pump that big be for?

I think it's an electric motor. The tubing going to it holds coolant for cooling it down?

This company has its roots in the engineering industry. Plus they sourced talent from the space industry and motorsports arenas.

I've been in contact with Avera for awhile and I'll have more updates in the future.

Looks like the same size as my Mercedes diesel vacuum pump. Central locks, climate control, transmission control, EGR control, boost control and power brakes.

You are probably right about it being an electric motor....
