I made this trailer last year, the hitch still needs some work and it need a fender. I think next time i'll just look for a two wheeled child trailer.

A short length of a heavy-duty V belt or a chunk of truck tire caracass makes a dandy hitch hinge. It can be attached with wing nuts for quick removal.

I just got back from my first ride of the year! It is a beautiful day -- about 74F and just a gentle breeze. There were some sections where you have to ride through some water, but nothin' I couldn't handle!

I rode a little over 8.5 miles mostly on rough paved and gravel roads. I live on a steep hill, so the end of my rides always end with a lot of exertion!

My bicycle is a Bianchi "Advantage" -- it is already about 15+ years old. I really like this bike -- it just feels right to ride. I love the indexed 21 speeds, and the brakes are far better than my old 1978 Raleigh Gran Prix; which also rode like a buckboard wagon, by comparison.

This is what they call a "hybrid" bike -- better on the roads than a mountain bike, but capable of trail riding; though soft sand and rough rocks would not be too swift...

My wife has a similar one, with a bit shorter frame. We both test rode several other bikes, and we both agreed that this one was head and shoulders above the others. Easy to pedal, smooth ride, nimble handling, great shifting and brakes... Everything is very Goldilocks!
