I turned the A/C around once but dont know if it made a difference. too small to be measured i"m sure.
On my 5th a deflector on the truck roof netted almost 2 MPG.
To make it removable I started with a suction cup and straps type of roof rack from a yard sale. I think you may find them under those turtle toppers.
I made the supports out of that pre-drilled angle stuff so I could adjust it. A half sheet of plywood made up the face.
Makes a nice place for advertising/family crest/whatever too.

That just might be it.. I think maybe I thought "Mercedes" because of the tri-wiper in the windscreen.

I need to get pics, but got a few things done.
I bought a used Leer camper shell. It is the tallest one made. It is about 8" taller than the cab of the truck. Still need to get air up another foot and a half or so. I'll try to dig up a deflector for that. I also want to put some sort of wings on the rear/side of the truck to direct the flow away from the gap and out some. The trailer is wider than the truck.
I also made a lexan grille block and put foam in all openings under hood and around headlights.
Lexan skirts for the trailer are next. Still trying to figure out a boattail that won't be too intrusive to trailer use. I'm thinking a piano hinge and thicker lexan would work good and be easy to fold out of the way when I have to unload.

Hello,
I am just brainstorming here, but what if you filled the gap between the trailer and truck with a giant air ballon/bladder that stretched? As you turned, it would compress one side, but expand/stretch the other side. Would that work?

I'm still thinking about that part. I thought about some "spandex" like material. I would just install snaps on camper, truck sides, and trailer. It would be easy to install or take off, yet still allow for articulation. I have a weight distribution hitch, so I can't turn super sharp with it anyway.

Front mods. Grille block. Tape around headlights and under hood.

Camper pics. It still needs a deflector.

That looks great. Love the clear grille blocks and everything you intend to accomplish! I am not an expert on TD engines but I would think since you are towing a fairly heavy trailer and you closed off a substantial portion of air to the intercooler that you might want to monitor your charge air temperature. I think you guys do that with the end result out the back end with a an EGT gauge right? If you don't have an SGII get one or add an intake air temp gauge into one of your intake tubes. After the intercooler of course. If temperature becomes an issue you could make a simple scoop under the bumper since those trucks are "dirty" to the air anyway underneath it would not negatively affect your progress. Like I said I'm no pro just a friendly neighbor looking out for a guy. Those Powerstrokes are not cheap I would hate to see you pop it.

That looks like a significant improvement.
If it were me I'd put a boat tail on the roof top A/C with a light weight hinged top portion that could be spring loaded so that the slightest airflow would open it and forward motion would close it tightly. just a thought.
