Why are you talking about BMW?????

Rear wheel drive. Comfy. Fun to drive. Used to have one, one of the better driving vehicles I had. The difference between acting and dining is like driving a civic and a BMW. Believe me, I really wanted to get a civic but I hate these much, I hate front wheel drive and I hate timing belts.

Mind you, the aero civic is cool

Stick ain't hard to learn, it's just a matter of will (yeah we Europeans favor manuals)

Civics from 2006 and later don't have timing belts, FYI. My 2000 Insight doesn't have one either. Of course, it's neither comfortable nor fast.

The new ones are actually all fairly good on fuel for their size and power, but you will get destroyed on maintenance. All BMWs have turbo Valvetronic engines, which are on paper the best engines you'll find from any manufacturer.

My parents leased an X5 40e hybrid and it gets ~27-28mpg indicated on the dash if you cruise at 65mph, which is incredible considering how tall and big it is. That same N20 engine in a 328i probably can get well over 40mpg while cruising.

Even before it gets old and needs expensive parts, the big oil sump and big tires will put a bigger dent in your wallet than a normal car just for routine maintenance.
