Serious power from a tiny engine. It seems to me like BMW doesn't really do things wrong, so this will be interesting to see.

Take a Metro and multiply all the costs of ownership- purchase, parts, service, tabs, insurance, etc.- by 3x or so, and presto! there ya have it.

The 1-series is 3252 lbs. The Metro was 1832 lbs. It seems like comparing a firefly to a tank. The engine sounds like an M52 engine (a straight-6) cut in half and updated for more rated power output.
