Boat Tail Window Material?

I'm currently in the planning stages for my boat tail and I'm figuring out what everything is going to cost and where I'm going to get it. I'm obviously going to need a window to see out of the back of the car and was wondering what other people have used or would recommend using.

Right now I'm deciding between lexan(polycarbonate) and acrylic because that is what available at my nearest Home Depot. lexan is more expensive, but it is also a lot stronger. I would prefer to use the acrylic because it is cheaper. I also plan on applying a tint film to the window.

What do you guys think I should use?

I would recommend the lexan. It is stronger and more UV resistant.

Seal it with butyl tape.

I'll probably end up going with the lexan because of the UV resistance.

Is Butyl tape kind of like double sided tape? I was planning on using some sort of silicon or caulk to seal the window but the butyl tape looks much easier and cleaner to work with and might provide more desirable results.

Butyl is a sticky mastic. It is sort of like tar, but you can get it off things. It never dries out, it always remains sticky.

If I use butyl tape, Will I need to put bolts through the glass to hold the butyl tape tight or will it hold itself? I'm trying to avoid putting any bolts through so that the boat tail will be more aerodynamic. Every little bit counts. It's not big deal if I have to though.
