Cam AND Ignition timing?

Hey I'm changing the timing belt today and was wondering, would it benefit me to advance the stock cam gear? I do 90% interstate driving so how many teeth advanced should I go? And also how many degrees should I go on the ignition timing with it? Everything is set stock right now (btw its a 97 1.0L) Thanks

nevermind... I know now why I couldn't find it... one tooth is way too much... i'll just wait for an adjustable cam gear... unless anyone knows of a way to adjust a little bit with the stock gear

bad idea

in a G10 advancing the cam at all is a very bad idea
it seems like it should be a good idea
but
it is not

the exhaust lobes get advanced along with the intake lobes
and the end result is that the exhaust valves close before the combustion gases can be expelled , before TDC ....

i had installed a +10 cam wheel from 3tech , every thing got worse
so i checked to see why

look inside the red oval that peak upward shows pressure where there should be no pressure
overlayed on the pressure waveform of the same engine without advanced cam timing

this is how you measure it ... that fluke pv350 pressure transducer is connected to a digital storage oscilloscope either Pico 6 or ATS Escope .

learn from my pain
do NOT advance cam timing on any G10
