Car with a Carb

What's the best way in instrument & log a vehicle with a carb for fuel economy?

A vaccum guage & fill up at the same pump all the time?

Thanks
Don

It's a good start. You can buy an O2 sensor and a gauge and mount it in any vehicle. It takes a bit of work to install it if you don't have a bung already welded in your exhaust, but it will show your air/fuel ratio in real-time. Just make sure the gauge and the sensor operate on the same voltage system (0v is rich, 1v is lean, etc.) like you would do with a fuel gauge.

Thank you

It has an oxygen sensor already as the carb is "computer controlled". Hopefully I will soon be rebuilding a much better non-electric carb & the O2 bung will be freed up.

That would be best, otherwise see if you can splice into the current O2 sensor wire and connect a gauge to it.
