I think these are about $14000 american, and they have been around for a year. Was thinking about one, but not at that price. Could never justify the cost difference via gasolene versus electric.

I am building one myself with almost exactly the same specs for half the price and 70kg lighter... but if you aren't mechanically inclined (or crazy enough to do it anyway like I am) then it is a good option. I want their throttle assembly though, its cool. Twist forward for regen back for acceleration.

I really hope they do well but I have to say that whoever they have designing their bikes need help. Why do they have to look like every other ugly ass swoopy gloopy rice rocket wannabe? Where's the style? One of the first rules of business is to differentiate yourself from your competition. How will anyone tell it's electric other than not hearing it coming?

Design! Design! Design!

They seem to start at ~$8k, so as long as they last ~100k miles they should cost the same as a $4k Vespa or similar overall, and if they last longer than $100k, would be way cheaper after. Quicker too. The only downside is a driver would need to go ~40-45mph to see the 75 mile range.
