Converting a 2003 Volvo V40...

I have a relatively old Volvo that got amazing mileage (compared to other cars) back in 2003, but now just gets mediocre mileage (compared to other cars). I know it has an extremely low curb weight for a car in its class, and has a decent amount of trunk space. Do you think there's any (practical) method of converting it? Would converting be a good idea?

Um, sorry, but the V40 is pretty radically different from all the cars pictured.

@Greenpeace-

How did the car go from amazing mpgs to mediocre? What happened?
Cars just don't do that unless there is a malfunction. Is that the case?
Just curious here.

All kinds of cars are being converted to EV these days.
There's no reason it couldn't be done with the V40.
It should have the space and payload capability for it.

Depends on how much you're willing to spend, and how much the fuel is costing you.

Some people expect a return on their EV investment.
Other people convert cars in order not to consume any fuel, regardless of cost.
