Old news (although it is much cooler than a scooter) and I might be wrong but the Aprilia SHIVER was the first of those new generation A/T motorbike.
edit : wrong, the Shiver is the first ride by wire

I still couldn't try a DCT bike, so I don't know if it's possible to go in and out of N while running. Not being able to glide (and even FAS) could be a deal breaker to me.

(But the NC700 models are available with manual transmission too, and I like MT )

If you want to live like an adult, use the things from the past, when the head of society was not trying to hold people in childhood because they fear change as it would mean the end of their little comfort, be it material or intelectual ...

Pretty neat application. Torque interruption on gear-changes matter more in a light motorbike than on a one-and-a-half ton car.

Even better is the workload reduction. A dual-clutch in a sports car lessens the driver's workload during cornering and allows him to concentrate on proper driving lines and braking. The effect should be even more pronounced in a motorbike, allowing you more control over the bike while shifting. Probably allowing you to shift later or even in situations where you normally wouldn't shift with a manual (well leaned-over... welll... it would for me, cause I suck at riding).

A friend of mine had a VFR DCT and used it on track.

The teachers told him it was very efficient (on track) but it was too heavy and required a lot of experience to gain advantage from the DCT (as you say, in the twisties) and to overcome the reduced acceleration from this heavier bike for him (beginner)

From what I can find online, that's not the fault of the DCT... well not all of it... the DCT itself is only a 22-25 pound weight penalty, depending on the bike. Yeah, I know weight matters on a bike, but that's weight low down, so it's not a total disaster. And it really makes things simpler for novices like me.

Car DCTs are worse... Ford's dual-clutch with the wet clutch is worth almost a hundred pounds of extra weight.

Wow. I have always scoffed at Honda's DCT. "That's not a real motorcycle."
Now that I have seen this video, I almost want one.
