I thought i might give a bit more info on this page about the c3 corvette.
I just joined this site in hope for my modded c3 vette to handle speeds of 160+ and be fuel efficient as it is my daily too.

Firstly, they have shocking aero, with a c.d of about 0.5-0.55, and then improved to 0.45 from 1980-1982, you are better off starting with nearly any other 2 seater for better efficiency, although it is a corvette, so trying to make it work more effectively if why he has done it and why i am here too

Secondly, i have resto modded my 82, (being the lightest and most aerodynamic of the c3's) and have a modded LSx motor in it, pushing about 500engine horses, does the quater mile in under 12 secs with not too many mods, putting an ls motor in makes it very light and efficient, and i have a low gear ratio, larger than average tyres and a 4l60e box, i am doing 1200rpm @60mph, and my best long range average (tested over 200miles multiple times on 62mph roads) is about 50-52mpg, as my throttle possition is only 8% at those speeds. My 500hp performance motor can be more efficient than this diesel. Although when im having fun i am around 8mpg,

I want to improve the shocking aero of my car though, and i have already dropped 500-600lbs of weight in this car, so i will start a mew thread soon,

Just wanted to point out that these are still good numbers for a shockingly aero inefficient car, but maybe there would be better gains with working on the aero first and then engine. Im sure of it
