This is the stuff I got:
Exquisicat® Crystal Low Dust Formula Fragrance Free Cat Litter | Litter | PetSmart

With time and handling, it starts to generate dust... I dump it in a strainer and run water through while sloshing it a bit, washes away any dust.

Other protip: a slow cooker with the lid propped is a great, gentle way to cook out the water. Just pop it in when you get home from work in the evening and drop it in the car before you go to sleep.

Low in the slow cooker is 190F/88C, high is 250F/121C. I use low and a rack made of a wire coat hanger to keep the sock directly off the slow cooker's bottom.

yeh but its the same risk as having a bit of broken aspirin or a chunk of rock salt on your floorboards
dont let cops search your car ever
because there is a bit of something somewhere
that looks like a good enough reason for them not to have wasted there time

Yeah, if they have to ask, the answer is always no, and it's not because I'm hiding something.

I have a friend that is due to be released from federal soon that had a habit of doing the same thing. Something about planted contraband, IIRC.
