Day 3 with the Sonata Hybrid

I love this car. I've been able to keep it around 45 mpg average in highway-heavy mixed driving, even with my wife driving often. Cruise control is great on the highway, getting over 45 mpg on it's own. It's easy to keep the car in EV mode as much as possible around the city. I'm very happy that we're above EPA already.

Pics or it didn't happen!...

Just kidding man! I would love to see some glamour shots of your ride though! The pics I have seen of these cars looks slick.

That's awesome about the mileage you are pulling from it!

I definitely will as soon as I get a chance. An irregular schedule and traffic has taken their toll today, though: down to 35 mpg average. I should be able to get it back some tomorrow. Still, if the first tank hits EPA while I'm still learning the car and alternating with the wife, I think that's a win. For now.

I've got the manual trans GLS, non-hybrid, and it's a great car. I've been a month and 5 days now since fill-up and still have 5 gallons, and it has been ALL intown and the UG shows 37.5 mpg. After yours breaks in and you get to know it, you should be seeing even better numbers.

Anything new to report? I am very interested in the Sonata Hybrid and want to see what it is capable of in the hands of a hypermiler!

I need to enter my logs over here. So good news and bad: I can consistently get 43-45 mpg on theweekends, being about 85/15% highway to city driving. Unfortunately, I drive in traffic every morning and evening and haven't been able to get a tank above 36 mpg. I can't fault the car for this, as it's great on the open road and light city driving. I'm just cursed with a 4-year highway construction project at the end of my commute each day. I'm still learning how to drive this car, too.
