Day Dreaming About HILUX

I was wondering what the UK counterpart of my 2009 Tacoma gets for fuel economy. Check out the difference here. I logged my fuel for about 6 months with an app called gascubby on my iphone and this is the summary of the whole duration:

Here is the EPA for my truck it is the bottom one:

Fuel Economy of 2009 Toyota Tacoma 4WD

Now the UK version of my Tacoma is called a Hilux and is pretty much identical in every way except aesthetics on the front end and of coarse engine choices.

Toyota Hilux Pick-up 2.5 Double Cab HL3 4X4 4dr - Car Comparision - What Car?

It's really too bad there is no market in North America for these little diesel engines in pickups .

If I could do it at a reasonable cost, I would trade mine for an imported Hilux without a moments hesitation.

There's also 4 door four wheel drive diesel rangers everywhere elso but north America. I think the market in the u.s. is there for little diesel trucks, but it would be a lot bigger if gas was $5 a gallon and diesel was available almost everywhere like it is in Europe.

I thought Canada had access to the diesel Hilux? There goes my dream of stealing one and making a run for the boarder. I've been lusting after a Toyota diesel for 7 years now. I ended up buying the smallest diesel truck I could get... a Dodge RAM 2500 Cummins 4x4. The beast weighs 7,000 lbs.

Couldn't you import one of the used diesel engines from Japan?
