the auther sounds very sound and I understand his consern but consider this you are taking a simple pot box(((I'm not talking about a home made pot converted to use as a throttle pot))) but a automotive throttle position sensor(TPS) converted to use in a EV and adding a pic controller,opto's,transistors,dc-dc,and a digital conv. ect.
I have been a mech for over 30 years have sold over 5000 cars and seviced over 9000 and in all those years and all those cars maybe! only half dozen have been faulty TPS's
when you remove a TPS from a very hot and hostile everoment of a ICE you will greatly encrease the life of a TPS in a EV.
auto manufacturer go to great lenths to make shure the TPS doesn't fail add the circuit mentioned that doen't have a track record would be asking for trouble down the road maybe not but adding a lot of complexity to a simple problem (take a throttle box and install a new TPS and your guaranteed at least 10-15 years of trouble free throttle.
