Do to '59 Chevy Impala's gullwing fins produce lift?

A member on another forum I frequent posted this article by Motor Trend Classic magazine, I thought it'd be of interest for this forum too. While it's not 100% fuel economy related, there's a slight mention of it, but the testing is quite interesting. The results don't surprise me a bit though.

Amusing Aerodynamic Analysis from Motor Trend Classic a study of the 1959 Impala aerodynamics.

Freekin awesome!!! I've seen this somewhere but thanks for finding it!

Wish they would have done a post sedan.

I'm going to have to do an "invisible" grille block with clear or black material from behind, and maybe an unobtrusive airdam down below.

A person would have to completely lack common sense to look at those horizontal fins and think they produce lift.
