Dont block the openings on your bmw M1

Found this 'article' interesting. It was in Maxim Sept 2011.
THe 1 series BMW are pretty small. THis was commentinging on the 'M' version. 0-6 in 4.7sec twin torbo straight 6. (maybe from the 330?)

As you might be aware bmw has a moveable grille block on at least the 5 series.

I gues, if your going fast, you want the air going thru the car.
if your ecommodding you want it to go around.

speaking of air going THRU a car.
I have always been amazed at the ducts on the 1966(?) ShelBy GT-40:

Note those ducts are for brake cooling.
In a track car, speed is worthless if you can't slow down enough to make the turn !
Ecomodders use the brake so little, they never get warm.
My vehicles have 135K miles and 168K miles on the factory brakes. Although the Express van is tapping the wear indicators occasionally.

Having the air from the radiator exit through the hood is one of the best solutions from an aerodynamic point of view.

Vekke also had one on his Seat Cordoba.
