Arrow Doug DeMuro mulling long-term Honda Insight test. Cast your vote!

Car journalist Doug DeMuro is asking for reader feedback on what he should buy for his next long-term road test vehicle. I think he's funding this project out of his own pocket, and he's considering a broad variety of vehicles.

Here's the list of cars that he's proposed, and readers can influence the decision:
1. E30 BMW M3
2. Acura NSX (eh?)
3. BMW M Coupe
4. Dodge Viper (not resellable)
5. Hummer H1 (not resellable)
6. Mercedes E55 AMG wagon
7. Mercedes R63 AMG
8. Original Honda Insight
9. Some form of Ferrari (maintenance?)
10. Some form of Maserati (maintenance?)
11. Lincoln Blackwood
Naturally, my vote is for the Original Honda Insight. I'm really interested to see a long-term road test of the Insight, perhaps in a similar style to the Edmunds long-term tests. Doug's writing also exhibits a very entertaining sense of humor, which should make the Insight long-term test particularly fun to read.

Fortunately, all of our votes count! Vote for the Insight in the comments here!

-------------------

Now, $10 says that Doug will compare the Insight's dashboard to an S2000.

Have to admit I wasn't familiar with Mr DeMuro. Though just from that blog post, he sounds like fun.

WHY, though, is the Insight even on that list?

From what I understand, he's looking to get something a little exotic/unusual but resellable at the end of the test.

The I1 seems perfect for that.

Always a man of extremes, Doug bought a CTS-V wagon instead of a 1st gen Insight.

He usually buys/sells cars every few months, and he's already a couple months into CTS-V ownership. So we might have an other chance to get Doug to buy/review an Insight in the near future.

Doug is a gas. We actually started out on the same forum before we started writing, though he started with TTAC after I left, and stuck with it.

I'm envious at the guy's easygoing wit.
