Downsizing rear brake drums?

I've gotten rid of almost 10% of my curb weight of a 97 mazda protage.
My commute is 5.5 miles with 22 lights. So I'm trying to get rid of mass and rotating mass.

Has anyone traded out 200mm brakes for 170mm brakes on the rear? (Or something equivilant)

With the lighter weight I don't need full size brakes. No ABS and I can lock up the tires. I'll put new hubs in at the same time. Something with aluminum drums. Any show stoppers?

Honda CRX HF has decent brakes, small and aluminum.

Of course, I believe I've already warned about the dangers of offsetting the balance of your brake system in another thread, so that doesn't need to be revisited here.

You're looking for 1984-1987 or 1988-1991 CRX HF. Both of them had aluminum brakes, but I don't think they're interchangeable.

I'd like to think that people might open their eyes at some point... instead, I find it more and more likely that I'll just close mine.
