The problem I see is that a portion of the improvements are due to the trailer design. I have a hard time seeing all of the trailers (millions, I'm sure) updated to allow trucks to get this mileage in the real-world.

I'd be very curious to see what it gets with a conventional trailer and maybe a conventional trailer with some of the common aero tweaks.

I was also considering this issue. An average trailer is likely to decrease the fuel savings but the improvements on the tractor unit still may provide a reasonably cost-effective result altough the rebates would come a little later.
