I got a little side tracked from looking at how much oil I would need for my car and truck and trying to see if they would be the same grade, and I found this information about the biltema gearbox oils.

80W/90 mineral oil specs - http://www.biltema.se/BiltemaDocumen.../36978_TDS.pdf

75W/90 synthetic oil specs - http://www.biltema.se/BiltemaDocumen.../36997_TDS.pdf

The number look fairly close together with exception to the viscosity index

my mileage dropped to only 33MPG when I switched to 95E10 gas (95 octane/10% ethanol).

my car seems to like 98e5 more (98 octane/5% octane). It's 6,4% more expensive, but consumes it way less.

The compression ratio is 9,8:1.

It seems that the engine management can take really good advantage of higher octane gas. How suprising.

It is about 5% more expensive here but I have not yet tried it to see if my ford likes it. When I lived in England I used a premium diesel and noticed the extra economy outweighed the extra cost. I should really give it a test, maybe in the new year.

Couldn't say who makes it now, up until a few years ago it was Statoil.

Really need to look into my gear box oils, I didn't realise that it could make such an effect

yeah it is about the same just a few degress warmer.

I do hate the weather between -5 and +5, it feels so cold, wet and it gets icy. I would just like the weather to go down to +5 in october, a week or two without rain, then on november 1st it goes to -5 (or below) and stays like that until the end of march, then straight to +5, perhaps with a couple of days of good rain to wash the snow away.
