no, I cant. Nowadays you need a separate license. But I could buy a scooter, or fix up my 50CC Suzuki moped.

(it's similar like this in pic but the springs are crapped and overall looks worse. and it's missing it's chain guide. it also needs a new rear hub and brake light switches )

Would 50cc be enough for that intercity route? Or is it worth to get a motorcycle license and getting something between 125cc and 300cc?

I am still considering. Although owning a moped only requires insurance and its max 10kms if I move to the city

Motorbikes here are seen as hobby things instead of car replacements :/ they have expensive insurance and the license is a bit expensive

The weather here is getting better. I am probably getting new springs in the... spring if I can get a job until then

Here the small-displacement ones account for a higher market-share exactly because of the utilitarian approach as a car replacement. But the mandatory insurance is more expensive on them exactly because the rider is more prone to get badly wounded in a crash.

yup.

Snow is accumulating here. I had to plow through some 10-inch snow yesterday. I hope the plows take action in time

Been drooling at 'deze Vaz/lada Nivas again.

If I just had the cash. Full 4WD and all, and finnish roads keep on becoming crappier.

Mileage is bad on these, but it'd be a challenge to wind it down

lucky, we have had nothing this winter, I was hoping to go skiing on some of the local lakes, but I guess I'll just have to keep hoping until next winter.

I too have been looking at these, (nothing serious), but the MPG really is bad, and they have a terrible reputation for rust.

yup. the mileage depends on how fast you drive 8L/100km at 80Km/h, 10L/100Km/h etc.

I'd wish to get my hands on a '99, so it's not emissions restricted. I'd increase the compression to about 11-12 and run it on E85. And use LRR tires w/Modern oils.

It's roughly a Fiat 127 on steroids, but it doesn't seem impossible to ecomod one.
