Electric Car at Auction

Saw this classic and thought I'd post it:
1964 Marketour | Proxibid®

I have no financial interest in this vehicle and can't afford to buy it myself. I'm putting it her as more of a conversation starter than anything. It's amazing how long ago they were making electric cars (I know they were making them around the turn of the century).

A cute little thing:
302a.jpg

"...a modest top speed and range of around 50 miles on a charge.
This would be a perfect little toy..."

I wonder what "modest" means, 20 MPH?
It appears to have a single battery.
No way it has regen.
A 50 mile range is hard to imagine.

But it was fun to see. Thanks!

Oh yeah, back in the day lots of retirees drove these around Long Beach. Rumor has it the retirees would use them to "terrorize" regular pedestrians because they would drive them on the sidewalk.
