Electric stove energy usage?

Posted this over at ER too: How much electricity does a standard electric stove use? - EcoRenovator

Anyone know what a standard stove top would use on high in terms of watts?

check the 220v breaker in the box, how many amps is it rated for divide by four (4 burners) and figure 80-85% of that number. What make and model is it? There should be a sticker on the thing somewhere.
