Which motor is best?

Hello, don't know much about electric motors but I'm installing a solar energy system on my home and it got me all excited about electrical stuff. I'm thinking about converting my work car, 2005 Honda CRV, to electric. I have a huge electric motor from a rotary 3-phase convertor that I don't use any more was planning to sell, it's #400 and what I keep reading is get a heavy motor for ev conversion, I'll include a picture. I also have a Hyster E120XL3 forklift that weighs about 20K lbs, I imagine that's a big electric motor, it has a dead battery which is pretty expensive to replace so I'm considering using that drive motor if it is optimal. From all my reading online, sounds like I would need to have the motor rewound, high voltage like 600-800v, I don't know how many slots the stator has. I drive about 50 miles per day, some areas with short steep hills, don't know the degrees but they wouldn't be fun to walk up, so how big of a battery pack would be a minimum, sounds like lithium ion is the way to go, I would build myself not just purchase. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

My role in life seems to be excessive candor.

You've provided too few details, so no useful guidance can be provided. Based on what has been presented, much more needs to be learned before something resembling a successful project can be achieved.

40 HP in a CRV isn't much. My advice is to not destroy that CRV if it's currently working, or could be with minimal effort.

What you did provide is suspect.

That would be ten tons. I suspect a typo.

The motor illustrated is unsuited.

You dont necessarily want a heavy motor, you want a large diameter motor that may be also heavy. Generally on electric forklifts there are two motors: drive unit of about 11 to 13" external diameter and a pump motor for the hydraulics of about 9" diameter and has a female spline on the shaft. Pump motors are considered useless because of that shaft. Most forklifts run less than 96 volt battery packs so currents are relatively high and you have a back emf issue restricting spped in a car. Over-volting applied to the motor allows you advantages. Suggest researching DIYELECTRICCAR.COM

And while the battery is expensive, they are completely rebuildable so an alternative would be sell the forklift and use those funds for your car.
