Maybe I should rather attempt to streamline one of those Honda CG125-based trikes and call it a day...

"Elio Motors will introduce its latest prototype vehicle, the P5 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The P5 will feature a 0.9L, 3-cylindar engine, developed by IAV specifically for Elio Motors."

Some people sure have a lot of patience. I don't. Putting up with delay after delay, ad after ad is annoying. Seems a lot like the vanished Triac to me: one prototype running all over the place. I hope that 3-cylindar engine speeds up assembly.

The more I see the production get bumped further and further into the future the more I look to get 24mpg out of my 04 Range Rover.

Engine blocks and dash

They don't give much info about the blocks except they are Elios. I'm sure they're going into the first of those 25 prototypes. Are there 4 in the picture? That would make 6 total.

More Elio bull: That photograph is not of Elio workers, in an Elio plant, and those are not Elio blocks. That's a generic "factory workers" image. Here it is in a Bloomberg article from 2013, where the photographer is credited as David Maxwell for Bloomberg.

Edit: found the original. Those are Ford assembly line workers in Ohio building 2.0 Ecoboost blocks.

They have been misleading us for years. Just caught that? Sooner or later after they fail someone will buy the body molds and or parts list so we can make our own. Someone will stick a small electric motor that runs off a hearing aid battery. Others will stuff a Viper engine in there. It will become the unofficial car for the mayor of burning man powered only by solar panels and weed or maybe the next Popemobile.

Slightly.

Boy, their blog is amusing. There's a post from Oct. 16 titled, "Top 3 Questions Answered" wherein the author purports to answer the most-frequently asked questions. I thought the top question would be, "When are you going to start building cars?" But, apparently people are more worried about options availability on their imaginary Elios.
