Assad's government isn't the victim of the fighting in Syria.

"This doesn't go far enough" is a bad reason to be the only other holdout.

I'm not even going to address the US.

It's becoming abundantly clear that no one has any influence on this POTUS unless they're a yes-man anyway.

The Paris Treaty was economic suicide for the US, a handout to petty (and not so petty) dictators the world over, and a windfall for China and India with no appreciable results, even assuming validity of the pretext.

Good riddance to Elon Musk. He is a parasite. Nothing he has ever done was economically sound. He is the monorail salesman.

Elon musk is acting like a disgruntled investor cutting losses and running not like some one who believes in something.

Better efficiency reduces pollution by design.
Government is wasteful by design; waste and pollution usually go hand in hand.

No they won't, everything was voluntary right? The difference is in the US you put something like that on paper and people will sue it forcing the US government to do 10 times whatever vague language they set as a goal. Look at one vague line in the US Constitution, "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States" What has "general Welfare" turned in to? So I'm sure there is nothing to hammer the taxpayer with in the 31 pages of this treaty. That's my biggest sticking point anyway, it is clearly a treaty, there is a process to approve a treaty CLEARLY laid out in the Constitution. You don't need Tarot cards and the perfect stacked courts to find it.

It was a definite campaign promise. What ever happened to being mad a politicians who never keep their campaign promises?

I bet this one got him a bunch of the votes in those rust belt states that put him over the top. People there lived the results of NAFTA. This Paris thing had the potential to be another disaster economically.

The Europeans, the Chinese, and India will outpace the USA in the next phases of new energy technology development. Non-binding is not about not doing. It is about the flexibility to time, invest, and deploy in economically viable ways. As a result of this decision, the USA falls behind in technologies, badly damages its global leadership, and looks like the great ignoramus-society on the face of the earth.

The non-binding part. Also, the agreement part.

Maybe the whole law part in general.

In old soviet Russia, laws understand you.
