EOC with auto trans

There was lots of talk about if its safe to coast in neutral with engine off if you drive an automatic trans car....i started doing it recently because i read my cars manual and it said it can be towed with all wheels on the ground if you start the engine, put in drive, then in neutral and turn off the engine..
So far i havent had any issues, i only do it a few times per trip, usually when able to coast for a long time...

I will let you guys know if i experience any issues with my car

I've been doing it for years in my 04 Odyssey. No trouble. The manual's requirements for towing are probably the same as yours: below 35 mph, less than 50 miles at a time. I figure I can stretch the 35 mph limit a bit since i'm not EOC'ing for even 1 mile.

Other brands: check your manual for towing instructions. Hyundai I know for sure = DO NOT eoc.

On my last trip, in the city with a warmed up engine, I was able to get 56mpg by engine off coasting instead of with the engine on...that's about 20% better than i got before
