I always felt that if someone wanted to fill their dually up twice a week for $150, it's not my job (or the Gov'ts) to prevent that. I would never do that, but that's my choice, and it should be theirs.

Gotta have to agree with you on that matter, even though it seems nowadays that people willing to spend that much to fill their oversized trucks are the only ones entitled to choose, while any American who would want something really fuel-efficient other than a hybrid is pretty much limited to a motorcycle or a Mitsubishi Mirage...

The courts are just out of control, one president does something by writing a memo or instructing a policy change and the next can't undo it the same way is just stupid.

The 2012 regulations were not put in place by a president simply "writing a memo or instructing a policy change." There was a lengthy review process, and every major manufacturer except VW signed on in support of the final regulation.

Are you arguing that the CAFE standards are just stupid?

They don't pass laws, laws have to go thru congress, rules should be able to be challenged like DOCA a memo by a president who even said it was unconstitutional. EPA who tried to manage mud puddles, went after a land owner who god for bid made a dam in his yard to make a small pond or tank depending where you live. They are out of control. They have even went after dust when farmer are harvesting their crops.

Fine. Cripple Rooster, do you believe the 2020 CAFE standards are stupid. Yes or no? Feel free to expound if you so desire.
