EV conversion idea

I had an idea for an EV candidate. Some say a pick up is an easy one to start with, but I like cars, wagons to be specific.

So, why not convert a hearse.... They already have beefed up suspensions, large engine compartments, tons of "dead" space (thats supposed to be a joke)

heh

Just thinking out loud

A coffin would make an awsome battery box.

I think that the only drawback to a hearse is that they are hard to find. I bet even a used one is expensive.

Would make a great dragster though!

people would laugh when you drove that thing to work. haha
seriously may be a little heavier = more expensive to convert but laughs would be worth it.

Back in the 70's, my dad's friend took a hearse cross country. Rather then rent motel rooms, he slept in the back. Creepy...

1/2 grand...spend too much...time...on...forum...

The Hearse would be too heavy. I do demolition derby as a hobby and I got hold of a 73' Cadillac Hearse. I was told by the promoter that I would be "killing" people in the arena, so it was banned due to the weight of the vehicle. The Hearse is just above 7,000 lbs (3181 kg). My current car trailer could not carry it, I would have to get my friends trailer that he uses for tractors and combines.
Great 472 cid engine in them though, bought the car for $750.
Even an 80's Caddy Hearse would be heavy for conversion.
