I think the owner saw the event as an alternative energy expo. It runs on BioD and you can probably guess what the white cylinder in front of the car is...

I didn't get to talk with the guy. I just listened for a while. But so far it's just a big paper weight.

Half a dozen times he started the car and revved the crap out if it to impress people with the french fry smell.

Yup, to be honest I found it out of place that someone would bring a loud diesel to an EV show, and rev it in neutral (what a pointless thing to do) to prove who know what. It even was smoking when he was revving it...
