My B210 was an automatic and had no issues getting upto 70mph..

Sounds like carb issues..
I'm 5'10" and my buddy Rich is 6'1" and we fit just fine..
Its not a Lexus, so we didn't expect a cushy ride, but I never had any complaints. Its not a sports car, so how much fun would you expect?

I guess back traveling = like backsliding. Losing ground.

Anyway, we drove a '75 B210 hatch for a few years. Not the GX version though. 4-speed, with a carburetor. Buzzy thing, very light. I think it go about 30 mpg but I can't swear to that. Rear-drive.

back traveled as in, they got a rating of 48mpg in the 70's and now (with old epa) people think mid 30's-40 is good. And that was aero in it's day, what's aero in our day?

Wow, on the giant battery. They had a few of those sitting around the forklift bone yard where we got our lift truck. The one from our forklift (not included) weighed 3000 lbs, and Bennelson's right: worth a pretty penny in scrap prices. That 3k lbs of lead would be worth about $275 based on the last price I got for recycling a battery last fall.

Nice find, that old Datsun. Got to love the aero roof line.
