Welp, officially moved up to 72v / 40A on my trike, with a top speed probably around 45mph.

Video may follow.

Took it to work today. The roads are very empty at 5:30AM, but I honestly felt safer being able to keep up with (or pass) cars. Being able to reach 45 doesn't mean I'm always going to be traveling at that speed, much like in a car.

For a corovelo 45 mph is normal. At any speed above 30 mph I would use a lap belt. Aluminum honeycomb is used as safety panels in NASCAR and motorcycle jackets. Do you need to get a motorcycle registration or just fly beneath the radar?

State law is 1500w / 30mph, I'm hoping nobody bothers me.

Sounds good like North Carolina. Most states the speed is for motor alone.
