Talking First goal met 40MPG!!

After only my second tank after joining up here I got 42.7mpg

I am so pleased, thanks for all the tips everyone

now I start the quest for 50

Congrats! 40 is my first goal too without major modifications. My high was 36 but last tank was 31 I figure if I can consistant hit 40 then funding for the more expensive mods.

looks like your on the right track, don't be too bummed. Whats EPA 23? so 36 is awesome right?

my car is lighter and has a much smaller engine so 40 not a super big deal,, now 55 that would really be impressive

Yes, you are right. I was just bummed I went down by 5 with my last tank. I'm 1/3 the way through this tank and already doing well.

Have you prioritized your mods with cost and expected savings?

Honestly I'm really not sure how to do that. I'm starting with what has the least [major] impact on the cars looks or requirement from the driver (see my other post regarding the wife).

I know when I go to remove the side mirrors I'll catch a lot of flack. I wonder if I could ring some kind of removable system for them?

So when we prioritize mods, I always assumed anything that increases aerodynamics should take priority. Is that right?
