Which folding bike for skipping traffic?

I'm considering getting a small folding bike to put in the back of my van.

Then I can park on the outskirts of town and cycle in, easier parking, saving fuel and avoiding traffic.

The only thing is, what bike do I choose?

Ultra mini = Light and very convienient but no doubt a pain to ride
8" A-BICYCLE (SOLID),MINI BIKE,FOLDING BIKE,POCKET BIKE on eBay (end time 20-Aug-09 22:13:31 BST)
Mobiky Folding Bike Brand New (Gekko CarryMe Strida) on eBay (end time 20-Aug-09 19:00:00 BST)

Brompton = ok to ride but a bit heavier and very expensive. Quite small in the van, but I just don't feel love for them

A full sized folder = I can see myself enjoying one of these, but I'd have to make room for it in the van

Hey Jag, nice numbers on that van btw.

I don't have the dimensions, but I think you can strap a regular bike on the back of that van in such a way that it will be out of the airstream and not be a penalty aerodynamically speaking, maybe remove the front (or both) wheels? I've been on a few folders and like my old 10 speed much better, including the price

I have a Dahon full-size folder and like it. The handlebars don't fold, so it's basically for space where you have width but not length available. (It fits into the rear of the Clunker with some contortions.)

I needed a folding bike because it's the only kind allowed on the Green Line during rush hour. The ones with smaller wheels are okay, but if you ever have a need to put one on the rack on the front of the bus, the gearworks on the rear wheel can hit against the rack with the smaller wheels.

I'd get a bike I really like to ride, and use an external rack if necessary. I used to ride a folder, until I discovered that my regular bike fit in a "compact" car trunk with the front wheel off.
