Found a motor

I found the remains of a mini-motorcycle with a 36V 400 watt permanent magnet motor in it. I hooked up a jump box to it and it rotated fine. I wanted to make sure it ran on straight dc without a funky controller.

I talked the guy down to $25 for the motor, is it worth it? I'm thinking of either a bike conversion or mini moped not sure if 400 watts is enough power. What does that work out to in horsepower? I figure it's somewhere just under 1/2 horsepower if it's 80% efficient.

Should be plenty of power for a hybrid bicycle.
