Yes. Obviously we would be more interested if he took a ball-peen hammer to it.

The two seater is what kills it for me. If it sat at least 4, I'd buy one in a heartbeat as I think they are cool looking and super fuel efficient. I'm a Honda guy (I have 2 Hondas and all my kids cars are a Honda..., but would rather buy a Prius. I bought my wife an old Prius and the thing is amazing. Way, way more room and passenger seating. My wife is getting over 50mpg in hers and she doesn't know crap about hyper-miling.

Nobody or no family has just one car these days unless they live inside a city so no reason it would be your only car. 50mpg is great but 75 is better especially if you usually drive alone.

You're not getting 75mpg driving a 1st gen Insight like a typical driver... you'd likely be 55-60mpg. 75mpg is achieved by methodical driving techniques. So you're only about 5-10 mpg better off with the Insight as a normal driver. I know I could drive my wife's Prius and easily get 60-65 mpg with good technique, so not that much difference in mpg and look at the room, seating and comfort gained. Plus, a Prius is much more reliable... no worries on the notorious 2nd gear issue.

Since the Insight tapered, I think a third seat would be a good compromise. Many would say "No, not four, go away."

Honda did make a four-seater Insight, but we usually ignore that one.
