2000 Chevy Metro with 160,000 miles (Chicago area)

My blue gas sipper is becoming too demanding. She wants a new exhaust system and new distributor cap/or wires. In the grand scheme of things, not terrible, but I can't justify investing more into her with her age; cause chances are she will want more. I like her a lot and she has served me well. She's been pretty frugal drinking only unleaded yet giving me nearly 40mpg average in return. I've finally decided to let her go though. I going electric so she needs to go. Either in whole or in parts. I figure I'd ask if any of you would like her. I'm in the Chicago area. She is a 2000 Chevy Metro 2 door hatchback.

Manual transmission I assume?

How's the rust situation?

Good luck with the sale!

Most of its life she's been in California so the rust is pretty minimal. The hood had some damage and thus rust. Around the gas hatch it has some rust as well. Otherwise there is paint dulling on the roof and the hood from the sun.

Lets see if this works.
She has 168k miles. I'd be thrilled if I can get $1k for it. But will likely let it go for less. If there are no takers, I'm thinking of parting it out.

It's a 2013 fully electric and I love it. I drove the gas version before and didn't like the automatic transmission. The electric only has one gear and it is plenty quick off the line. Its a perfect commuter car and the price for a used electric car was impressive at just $5.1k with 20k miles.
The regenerative braking is interesting in that as soon as you let go of the gas, it starts to slow down. This will make the brake pads last for a long time. The only down side so far is if you disable traction control, its very hard to drive in the snow because as soon as you let go of the gas, the rear wheels lock up as if you pulled the e-brake. With traction control, it works fantastic.

I noticed the E. That means you do not have the weird port opposite the fuel tank. Someone put gas in the wrong side and shenanigans ensued.

I once drove a gas version and the transmission was horrible. I am glad you enjoy it.

Good luck with the sale!

She found a new owner. It is a bitter sweet time for me. Loved her charm, her simplicity, and her frugal nature. Hope you enjoy her Kevin.
