Check your tires! (pressure... getting cold!)

Just a friendly reminder to check your tire pressure. And don't forget that tire in the trunk, you may need it some day.

It's cooling down outside, and my tires were all down at least 5psi. However, I had two down 30psi! Fortunately one was the spare, the other was a rear tire that I guess I need to watch a little more closely. At 10psi, it had surprisingly little deformation; I guess there just isn't that much weight on the rear tire of a Civic.

The last week or so, it's been getting colder. I checked the tires for the first time since July. They're all down to 28PSI. Had to bring them back up to the max on the sidewall!

My jeep tires leak so I have to air them up nearly every week.

I did forget my spare ... I'm going to have to check that.

Timely thread!

The ForkenSwift developed a slow leak in one front tire this summer. Combined with a sharp drop in temps recently & not checking it for 2 weeks, it was waaaaaaaaaaaay down yesterday - @ ~30 lbs instead of 55!

There was such a difference in rolling resistance between the two front tires, the car was actually pulling slightly to the one side.

Just pumped up the ForkenSwift tires...

I'm embarrased to say that front one with the slow leak was at 20 lbs, not ~30! Sheesh. No wonder it was pulling to the right.

That should get me banned from EcoModder.

I'd mock you, but I had one at 10psi... At least it was in the rear.

I just checked mine and they were at 36, not too bad considering the temperature drop.

Spare at 56. The other 4 are around 37... and will probably be migrating to the basement. Winter-mode is almost here!!!
