Most premium fuels come with injection cleaning additives and a tank full generally costs much less than having it out of the car cleaned.

True, but the concern here, is these additives clean from the tank, forward. The injector is the last point before the gas enters the engine. Unless the fuel filter is outstanding at it's job, the "stuff" that the cleaner breaks off along the way, particularly in metal lines, gets caught in the screen at the beginning of the injector.

Unless the ebay person can offer some proof that he is modifying the injector tip to increase atomization, then he is probably merely cleaning and refurbishing the injector. In this case, new replacement injectors are just as good as what he offers, unless he is cheaper.

I do think it is an area that is frequently overlooked.
