This video is funny, but I am curious about 2 things. One, how did he get such horrible economy before? And 2, what are the thoughts on the acetone?

Maybe he had some blockage in the fuel system and the acetone got rid of it?

But no, most likely it just bends the laws of physics and burns at 150% of its caloric value.
And that's just with a little bit of acetone on a lot of regular.
Imagine what would have happened if he had added 3 times as much acetone: infinite MPG, probably the tank would fill itself up!
Better not do this with a full tank then

When he mentioned removing the spare tire because he has a cellphone and insurance, I started wondering: Does that weight reduction save enough fuel to offset the big, heavy, smokey tow truck having to drive 20-100 miles to tow him to a garage?

good point. Of course out here the diesels aren't as smokey as they used to be.
