Finally an attractive front end grille bock!

Well I installed my front end grille block yesterday!

Can anybody see it?

No results yet, but in theory it seems like it will help!

It's clear vinyl I ordered online, I just put it over the turn signal cavities and the upper grille. Any consensus on whether you think it will be helpful or not?

Already tested the temperatures (it was real warm yesterday) and it hasn't effected them at all.

Nice, very clever. I assume it;s the same material that is used for protection from chips on the paint?
It was the rage several years ago. The edges tend to get dirty from the residual glue. Also it tends "weather" get's a darker shade. also it is IMPOSSIBLE to remove after 6-8 months.
But you achieved what is the fundemental concept of blocking. THe air never knows there is a block. perfect flow with the existing body lines
And you picked up the most qualitative aspect.....nobody can tell!!!

ADDED: here are my side mirrors today. I had bought the whole deal (entire front bumper) to protect against nicks) it was a pain to install so I did the side mirrors only. It's been 2 years and you can see my efforts to 'peel" it off!!

Hrm.... I don't mind the discoloring... but what's this IMPOSSIBLE to remove you speak of...???

The glue on them "sets up" hard as nails, and the plastic gets brittle with age. It makes it fairly difficult to remove the pieces after extended exposure.

I'd probably peel it after testing if there isn't a defined effect from it. If there is, I'd most likely still peel it and see about making a foam plug for the upper grille block and maybe either moving the turn lenses forward in the bumper cover, or making a thin lexan cover or similar.

Your're aparently not the first with the idea of a invisible grille block. Looks great though. Keep us posted on how it keeps up in terms of getting dirty from the sticky back side.

I've had vinyl windshield banners before and they weren't too difficult to take off... hmm, maybe I'll try putting a scrap of vinyl lower on the bumper as a test piece. That way I won't have to fiddle with the grille block.

Is it vinyl? Then you're most probably safe. I saw that it was clear and very thin, and assumed it was plastic with adhesive on it, and it would have made the previous poster's information a concern. Vinyl (that I've heard) doesn't do the same thing.

thought about doing anything to the back side of the vinyl? i was thinking the inside covering the grill opening would slowly get covered with dust dirt and bugs if its sticky. as would the turn signals at a much slower rate
