The vulcanization process (the heat and the fusion?) occurs before marriage.

With marriage comes the cooling process.

She sounds dumb. Dumb girlfriends are only useful for one thing.... Lead her on, get what you want from her at minimal cost, and under no circumstances should you actually buy her a car (even if you had to lie about doing it), especially an ugly SUV. Unless you are rich and have nothing else to do with your money, then by all means blow it on her, but I hope she is really good looking.

That's my girlfriend / fiancee you are calling dumb.
She is far from dumb, but sometimes makes decisions based on emotion rather than intellect.

So can you guys think of a ' macho ' looking small car ?
Name them here !
I think what is unfortunate is that to look muscular, cars seem to need large wheels and wheel flares.
I have taken notice of what some car makers are doing to create the illusion of a wheel flare without the added frontal area.
A cut line is added above the wheel arch and it creates the illusion of a protruding arch.
It's all a trick of light and shadow. Very clever.

We all make decisions based on emotion. She cares more about how she will look in the street to random strangers passing by, than you and all the slave labor you will have to perform to provide her with the vehicle. Therefore the logical choice for her is the hot SUV. The logical choice for you is the cost-effective little car. But she's a woman so there's probably no way to change her mind or argue with her, and even if you reach a compromise on this issue, the basic conflict will continue to reappear in the future unless you can find some way to advance her psychology on a basic level which is not very likely! I think your options are basically to find a new girl who wasn't spoiled as a kid (and doesn't expect to be spoiled now), or to be like her slave and give her whatever her little heart desires and demands.

Volvo C30 maybe ?
At least it has a 30 mpg highway rating.
Unfortunately, you guys in the US only get the top of the range / gas-guzzling T5 and none of the more economical versions.

Maybe a Honda CR-Z, though that doesn't nearly qualify as a muscle car.

The Ford Focus ST is a pretty good looking little car. Of course, it is tuned more for performance, but it should easily get 30MPG highway. Even has that crease you were talking about to make the fender flares look more flare-y.

Yes, CRZ came to mind.
Sporty looking, but poor MPG andpoor acceleration.
Honda couldn't make up their mind on that one.
Tiny port size rear window and MASSIVE blind spots on that car, otherwise quite nice looking.
