The great thing about retirement

is the complete lack of schedules and demands!

...although I have one regularly scheduled obligation, and that is to tip a few beers with my working friends on Fridays after they get off work. Heh heh, they're all "TGIF" and I'm all "YEAH, TGIF!" and they're all

Congratulations! Here at work, I'm always happy to hear that someone made it to the finish line (retired on their terms), so I am happy for you.

Think of all the whacky things you can make in your spare time!!!!

Thanks!

Well it wasn't eggzacktly on my terms... but close enough.

And yes, a lot of my spare time is devoted to dreaming up wacky things to build. Now I just need to find that motivation I used to have, and lost somewhere...

Look under the couch. Typically, that's where I find most of my lost motivation. For some reason, motivation and dust-bunnies always end up congregating in the same place.

I retired a year ago July 1st as a disgruntled mail man.....they even made me turn in my guns!

Now I can go where and when I want to drag race.....as long as I can get a baby sitter!

Yep, you read that correctly. The ex kicked me out of the house and then she married the exchange student we brought over from Europe!

So I get engaged to this 28 year old....I was 50. We got married Oct 20th, 2002 and we had a baby boy June 1st, 2006.....now she works full time while I am the stay at home Dad!

Frank - congrats!!!

Is retirement sort of like being self-semi-unemployed?

I do find myself occasionally going mountain biking in the middle of the afternoon with a couple of retired guys I know... Better than going when it's starting to get dark & cold at the end of the day when the rest of the guys get off work!

Thanks- but I have been "on the loose" for several years already. As far as being "self-semi-unemployed"... I suppose? Whatever it is, I like it.
