I haven't been to PAP in awhile. I'll be going next Thursday or Friday, though (next week, not today/tomorrow) to see if I can get a 3.08/disc brake rear for Gerald, as well as a pair of E-series bucket seats.

Unfortunately, I don't have any parts readily available to swap at this time, but it's a very good idea. Something we probably should have thought of/discussed about a month ago, to give everyone more time to vest themselves in the idea? Hindsight, eh?

Will, the next time Gary's has a $100 motor pull day, wanna let me know? I might have to find the time to come out there. I know they just got done with one (last week), and I couldn't get out there... I'm looking to score a few diesel engines to either use or re-sell.

I'll bring a set of those. But to get at them, you'd need a tire iron, a jack, and then something to loosen the lug nuts with.

Oh, I'll come to you if you wanna do it like that! You better put bike locks on those when the car isn't in your sight

I wouldn't mind having a 2G CRX HF 5th gear set to put in the Wagon I'm driving.
Way to make me feel worse about not getting the engine/trans from the HF that was at Gary's! I nabbed the dizzy and ECU if you're interested in those, but the rest went to the crusher.

Christ: There is yet again a bunch of new cars (possibly even that saturn you had been looking for) at gary's... scrap is up and it looks like they are just constantly getting new cars. If you or anyone else sends me to look for something there, and I find it, keep in mind it will probably be gone within 3-4 weeks.

Yeah, I don't actually need any parts for the Saturn anymore (I'm surprised you remember that... it was more than a year ago... )

I may need parts for the diesel Golf, so if you happen to see any MK II Jolf (Golf/Jetta) laying around, lemme know. Txt, here, or email. I presume you still have my email?

Also, anything diesel. I'm always looking to pick up yet another diesel engine, if I can dig up the coin and the time to pull it at the same time. So keep an eye out. Don't even care what it goes to.

If you happen to be there, check on what motorcycles and tractors are there, as well as if you see any type of flat-bed or rolloff bed for a pickup.

Long list, I know - you can handle it! :P

I think I have a set of '86 GTI springs. And I have a friend with a whole '86 GTI just rotting away in a field.

Are the GTi springs lower/stiffer than the OE ones? I wanna lower the car an inch or so... not sure what/how other than aftermarket parts...

I want to see if my 550/450 45mm drop springs will fit on it, first, but I may be interested in buying some parts as I need them, like the interior of that GTi that's rotting away, if it's in good condition.

I assume the springs are stiffer and probably lower, but I don't really know for sure. I can't find them either.

The rotting field GTI is pretty mousey, so you might want to avoid things that can't be cleaned really well. Plus I think the driver's door was left open. I can try to get pics of the interior. Or what's left of it anyway. That car still has springs on it.

I'm not really sure if I'm going to lower the car or not, but I definitely want something stiffer.

I'm trying to get a job with the gas drilling crews, which means if I take the Golf to a job site, it'll need to be able to make it into/out of the field/whatever they're setup in without getting stuck easily. Thankfully, I'll be out for 2 weeks at a time, so it's not like I'm gonna be driving 6 hours each way every day, and I can "afford" to burn a little more fuel, especially considering it's a diesel and will (hopefully) be run on homebrew.
